Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is more than just a coder—a deep systems thinker who understands software at a fundamental level, regardless of the stack. You should have strong experience in building distributed systems, DevOps within AWS, and JavaScript-based backend/frontend development.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a rapidly growing company and team. You’ll get the opportunity to work closely with the other teams at Datia and impact strategy, product and sales. Some highlights of the opportunity:

• Architect, build, and maintain software solutions using AWS as the cloud infrastructure.

• Design and develop javascript based backend solutions that are scalable and maintainable.
• Approach software as a fundamental piece of technology, not just a set of frameworks.
• Contribute to frontend development when necessary.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the platform for performance and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance and documentation while building.
  

📚 What We’re Looking For

This is a role with a broad set of responsibilities. You will be working closely with the founders, product team, and sales. Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Deep systems thinking—you understand how things work under the hood.
• 5+ years of backend development experience with modern frameworks and architectures.
• Advanced JavaScript/TypeScript skills for both backend and frontend.
• AWS expertise, including serverless, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
• SQL and database experience for scalable data management.
• DevOps & CI/CD experience to streamline deployment and operations.
• Frontend development skills—while this is a backend-heavy role, you should be comfortable contributing to the frontend.
• Autonomy & ownership—we need someone who can take initiative and execute.
• Problem-solving mindset—you thrive in ambiguity and solve complex challenges efficiently.
